Alan Collmer

Alan and his researchers work primarily with Pseudomonas syringae pv tomato DC3000 (a host-specific leaf-spot pathogen of tomato and Arabidopsis) to determine how it infects these plants, and how the plants fight back.

Their lab hopes to discover the biological secrets behind this war and help develop plant-based technologies to:

  • boost food production
  • provide a more efficient means of creating renewable food sources
  • help to make a cleaner enviornment.
